The name

Khalaf (خَلَف) means the successor — those who come after. Software is never finished: someone will use it tomorrow, extend it next year, take it over one day. We build for that person. Everything we deliver should be easy to pick up, understand and grow, whether by us or by the team that comes after us.

The tower

Our mark is drawn from the ribat, the watchtowers of the Tunisian coast: plain geometry, a solid base, a crown of merlons. A tower is built to stand, and built to protect. That is the kind of software we want to make — nothing decorative, everything with a reason to be there, and the people inside kept safe.

How we work

We take on a small number of projects at a time and stay with them. One team designs, builds and looks after each one, so the people who wrote the code are the ones who answer when you need a change. Most projects follow a clear four-week standard, with a written update every week.

What we protect

Your interests come first: the repository and the accounts are set up in your name from the start, you own the code as set out in your contract, and you can take everything with you when you leave. Your data is handled with care — access only where it’s needed, secrets kept out of code, and a security review before anything goes live.

Where we are

We are based in Tunis and work with clients in Tunisia and abroad, in French and English.
